COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:

In my experience- Talking one on one was the MOST powerful form of “moving” 

Being in the service of the community pushes thinking beyond what you thought was possible as an individual. 

Start with Heart-Always begin with your invitation to join:

  • Begin in the center of your contact circles and move outward tasking those in the “know” to share your invites.Access databases and send priming emails.Keep spreadsheets of response data.Tailoring language and ”codify” for future correspondence.
  • Be mindful of the cultural observances and season of learning.Gather a team to dialogue around

Empathy and timing of communication.” Dance to the Rhythm” reexamine legacy needs. 

Toolbox:

  • Your voice- start talking- make the calls. Develop thresholds that suit the site needs.
  • Data collecting applications, surveys. Newsletters, videos.
  •  Pop-Ups.Drive throughs.Facilitate gatherings often. 
  • Offer space for connection and coordination based on “just in time needs” this could be online or in person.
  • Make the attempt to multiply your actions with others committed to supporting the site needs. 

Deliver the data:

  • Connect with Wayfinders and Mapmakers to coordinate use of data.
  • Bridge pathways (go talk) of communication for Parents,Guardians, Learners, Wayfinders and Mapmakers.

Providing insights on developing patterns. Determine what resonates with others.Collaborate with an invitation to join in on topics or data gathering.

Making the invisible visible- Supporting our community in making sense of various information.

Toolbox:

  • Ability to balance DATA, BIAS and how that is carried to our community by CRAFT.

  • Codifying quantitative and qualitative data to help push boundaries of policy.
